K-7 movie mode playback

Took delivery of a k-7 recently and have a question regarding sound playback in movie mode. Playback is very soft regardless of volume setting. Speaking directly into the mic is about the only way to hear playback. Faulty mic?

The internal mic on my K-7 picks up sound very well like this helicopter shot with a 24-300mm @300mm or my granddaughter with 18-55mm @55mm.
