Proskar Anamorphic 16 A

Got this lens.
As much I found on the net it sounds rather interesting.
Do I need a host lens to attach it to? Does anybody have experience with it?

you'll need the host lens. You need the step up/down ring if you know the thread size of the Proskar or you can get an anamorphic lens clamp.

Yes. It needs step DOWN ring. Proskar's tread is 43mm (0,75?). It seems that it may not work with every host lens. Any recommended?

Sorry to revive an old thread. Have you ever had success?

I have the option to buy one for hardly any money (possibly US$10, haven't made an offer yet) and like to get some info on it. Details are a bit scarce but it's said to have a M42 mount. Does that mean one can use it straight away or does it still need a host lens? Recommendation on the host lens in case it is required; they don't seem to be everybody's friend.

Thanks.

Note: I don't know anything about anamorphic lenses except for what I quickly googled, but it indeed sounds interesting.

I sold mine. I could not get it to work any meaningful way.
There are many possibilities to try and as far as I know you need a host lens. Ant to find a working one may be tricky.
But if you can get it cheap it is worth of try, you may be lucky. And it is very easy to sell it on eBay for 100 or more.
