K-5 Video seems to lag behind audio

Hello, I've never really used the video feature of the K5 and I recently shoot some tests but the problem is that the video seems to be in sort of a slow motion. I can hear the audio fine but the video looks slow. In the camera it looks ok.
The Seetings are:
HD 30fps (and HD 25fps), Quality 3 stars, 18-55WR lens, class 10 8GB Sandisk card. My system is HP AMD Turion X2 64, Vista 64, 4gb ram.

Any ideas on what is wrong? I think maybe a codec for windows? thanks!

If you are seeing the video playback, then you should be ok on any codec issues. On your computer, what program are you using to playback the file?

Windows Media Player, the latest version because I have auto updates for Windows.

Edit:
I just tested using Quicktime player and it looks OK. So must probably a Windows Media Player issue. What could be wrong?

That was my next suggestion, to make sure you have the latest version.

HD files can play back pretty sluggish on some of my editing stations in media player or quicktime, choppy or out of sync. But in my editing software they are fine, since the software plays back low resolution proxies for editing.

First, I'd make sure there were no unnecessary background programs open and active on your computer to use your full processing and ram power.

If that does not help, you could try compressing the video from 1080 to 720 or smaller to have a file that plays back easier just to ensure that the audio and video are synced.

These would be my next steps just to make sure the video is ok to begin with! Hope this can help. Video can be a tricky bastard sometimes.

Yes on Quicktime they look fine. It's just on Windows Media Player. Not sure why WMP will not play them properly. Movies and a lot of different video files that I have all play just fine on WMP. I guess I'll just open the K5 files on QT. Weird.
And thanks for the help and suggestions.

WMP can be a bit temperamental sometimes. That's just how computers are sometimes. I'm glad Quicktime worked for you, atleast. I hope it's smooth sailing for you from here!

I have a video issue on my K-50 as well. with mine the audio lags behind the video after about 3 minutes of recording and the audio starts to lag and breaks up... Instead of FullHD (1080) and 30 fps, if I use HD (720) and 24 fps then everything is fine beyond 3 minutes of record time. Can it be that when the camera buffer gets full and when it writes out to the disk that the audio takes a hit (just too much to do at the same time)..

Sounds like you need faster cards to record to, Buckaroo.

You could be right - how fast of a card to you think I need... Right now I have a SanDisk 32g, 200x Class 10... I thought that one was pretty fast...

Mine is rated at 30mb/s - I just checked and there is one rated at 280mb/s but holly hanna it cost $245 for 64gig... Maybe I should check on one around 95mb/s and get an 8 gig which would be good for about 2 hours worth.. but also more in tune with my bucks...

A regular class 10 card should easily be able to deal with this though... I believe the maximum bitrate of the K-50 is around 24 Mbps? With a normal (non 200x) class 10 card I can record video at 80 Mbps in my K-5... 24 Mbps is nothing.

I'd try a different SD card if you have one around somewhere, but otherwise...

What player do you use for video? I'd suggest MPC-HC. Also, if you skip ahead, or backwards, does the audio still break up? i.e. is it always at the 3 minute mark, or if you press pause for example and skip ahead a bit will it fix it?
