Kx video jumpy after codec for CS4

Don't know for sure how to ask this.

When I run the video from the camera through Encoder it comes out jumpy. The raw footage is smooth.

What am I doing wrong?

Avi files are tricky- is premiere pro (I'm assuming that's what you've got) using the right codec and encoding to a compatible framerate? There are lots of things that can go wrong with video, so I'd experiment a bit.

Update. For the record.

Downloaded VirtualDub. Downloaded several codecs.

AVI file out of camera imported into VD switch video and audio to full processing mode then select compression and then select Cinepak Codec by Radius and then save as AVI.

This file will import into Adobe Premiere Pro and work without having a case of the jitters.

Be sure to import at the the correct frame rate.

This was a frustrating education.

Also for the record.

Just did a video clip that was about 40 seconds.

It took VD about 21 minutes to code.

So if you have a long video start the process and go take a nap.

Just don't be in a hurry.

And this was on an I5 four core processor with 4 gig of ram.
