What is in your tool box

What lenses do you think are essential for shooting video?

I figure one wide like a 28 maybe a standard zoom?

Could you shoot video with the sigma 18-50 2.8-4.5?

The Sigma 18-50 may be a very good video lens. If your have a K-01, K30, or K50, the HSM is pretty quiet for in-video AF. If you manual focus the focus ring is very smooth and has a short throw. If you need stabilization, the lens OS will not cause noise in the mic like the body SR.

I don't shoot much video, but when I do I prefer my Pentax M50 f1.7 or DA35 f2.4.

Ohhh, um so I am going to thread hi-jack I have a k5 and a K-01 along with that sigma lens. I was trying to sell it to get an 18-50 tamron, sigma 2.8, and I have a sigma 28 f1.8 on the way, to go with my fa 50f1.4. I like the sigma but after expierimenting in a moderately dark room with the k01 and a F2.8 lens Ive noticed alot of noise. I am thinking I will want to stick with the primes.

Just quick question. IF the lense has Image stabilization, is the video stabilized on the K30? The in camera shake reduction is not usable in video on the K30

It should as long as you have the OS switch on. I would check myself, but my 18-50's OS crapped the bed (jumps around erratically).
