So, from the thread title, you may guess what I've been practicing on, before loaning one for a short film shoot.
But this post isn't (yet) about the limitations of the Pocket Camera.
It's about the Fotga adaptor for K-mount lenses to M4/3rds cameras.
While shooting some behind the scenes stuff, I noticed that the focus marks on my lenses barrels didn't match up with the estimates of subject distance for what was being filmed.
And all my Zooms suddenly acted Vari-Focal instead of the Parfocal behaviour I've noted on my K-01.
Checking the barrel marks against a tape measure using my K-01, I've confirmed all my K and KA lenses are surprisingly accurately marked - accurate to the point where from f4 to f22 I will have absolute faith in the markings from now on.
At least on the K-01.
The FFD of the K-mount is 45.5mm. M4/3rds has an FFD of 19.2mm.
(
Lens mounts - Camera-wiki.org - The free camera encyclopedia )
So an adapter for K to M4/3 must be 26.3mm between lens and body flanges.
The Fotga branded adapters are 25.32mm according to my set of calipers.
So, for anyone else using one, you may need to measure the flange to flange distance, and do what I'm doing, make a shim to fit under the K-mount end to set the correct FFD for the K-mount lenses on the BMD Camera, or GH-4 if you're using one.
