Pentax K-X video question

Hey guys,

Just got myself a Pentax K-X and went out for a quick shoot at the golfing range. I noticed that a lot of the shots of the grass came out grainy with a lot of noise. I have a video below that I shot to show what i'm talking about. I was wondering if this is something that I can fix in post or can I adjust something on the camera to fix this.

I set up the camera as followed on this link Pentax K-x - exposure.

You don't have to set up much during daytime to get low noise video.

Enable fixed aperture and set it to the lowest F3.5 or 5.5 for the kit lens.
AWB will be ok for the white balance.

In low light you'll need a faster lens like f2.8 f2 f1.8 f1.7 or even f1.4

What were the light conditions?

Just another thought!

If you are using the 18 - 55 mm kit lens

I had the problem in the park once that I did not like the way the grass appeared on the video. I had a moire like flicker. Which is not noise.

Ironically the golf lawns are very fanatically trimmed and maybe form a very even pattern making this effect even worse.

The only solution is to use any kind of zoom lens and maybe not to sharp in focusing.

When using 18mm the grass pattern in relation to the sensor becomes to fine. And the kit lens is too high in imaging quality.

Go to Settings/Privacy and you'll see an option to let everyone see.

My guess is you are seeing moire, rather than noise: ProLost - ProLost Blog - You Didn't BelieveMe

Log into Vimeo. Click on the thumbnail of the video as though you were about to play it ... on the top right a cog-wheel icon will appear called 'Settings' (you won't see this if you aren't logged in as the owner of the video).

Click on that icon, and a new menu will appear on the left of your screen. Privacy will be the second menu item.
