I picked up a Hitachi video camera today very cheap. Mod : VM-E567LE
It didn't have a manual with it, so I was hoping someone might be able to enlighten me on a couple of things.
1/ What is the BLC button for ?
2/ How long for charging and what does the charge LED tell me ? (eg flashing or colour) etc.
Hitachi doesn't seem to have the manual for it online.

Absolutely nothing about this model online, but I'm guessing since the VM-E565LA has a very similar number, it is closely related. (Perhaps even the same model with a different bundle, and a slightly different model number for a particular retailer, or something along those lines).
The manual for the 565LA is here:

It also includes a BLC button. BLC stands for Backlight Compensation, and holding the button down will compensate for a backlit subject. Releasing the button will return to normal exposure.
Presuming the charge indicator works similarly, the following states are possible:
* One flash at one second intervals - 50% charge or less
* Two flashes at one second intervals - 50-75% charge
* Three flashes at one second intervals - 75%+ charge, but not fully charged
* Steady illumination - full charge
* One flash every two seconds - defective battery
* Charge indicator doesn't illuminate - defective charger
Hope this is of some help!
