Nice shots Bart. No trouble with too little DOF in those shots. ;-)

Well I have a Mint minus Zeiss 35 ZE f/2 distagon coming tomorrow morning from FFordes in Scotland. Now need the weather to shoot with to try it out when it gets here.

Great shots as usual Simon. That 180 is a great performer.

Really like shot #3 digitalCG

I'm heading down to the Margaret River region this weekend, where its hopefully nice and foggy... and cold!
Fingers crossed some shooting opportunities arise!

Not missing them the slightest, still not sure to sell them or hang on to them.....

I'm damn near ready to pull out my hair! I'm still waiting for my D800 to arrive and I've been lowered to to using my smartphone's camera since the Ex took the K-5!
So now I'm just trying to decide on some lenses.. between the 70-200 VR II or the Mikro Nikkor 105 VR and a Tamron 70-200 f2.8.. I have a feeling I would be happiest with the 70-200 VR II but it sure is an expensive chunk of glass!

BTW great shots.. you all are making me very jealous! Especially you Jay! Glad to see some D800 shots though!

This arrived this afternoon just before 1pm UK time:

From very early playing around it looks supersharp. Need the weather to behave to have a real play and blowing a gale here. More like November than June!

Here's a brief shot - handheld using Live View to focus (of course it's a manual focus lens) and zooming in. Pretty sure I didn't nail it. This was lunch I made for my wife and I - Chargrilled Salmon with Kingprawns, scallops mussels on a bed of salad leaves with a dill dressing:

Canon 5D mk III Carl Zeiss ZE 35mm f/2 distagon at f/10 and 1/20 ISO 1600

The rain finally stopped and grabbed this shot of the front of our car:

Canon 5D mk III Carl Zeiss ZE 35mm f/2 Distagon T* at f/16 and 1/25 ISO 250 converted in Silver efex pro 2

The lens is a nice weight and the focussing wheel has great feedback. in short, its a fantastic lens, and manually focussing can only be good for my technique.
