A cool morning and warm river with no wind can make some nice light at the RR bridge. With my 1dsii and a 70-200mm f2.8.

More than a tad jealous Tuco - what a spot. Love the one of your boys Tuco. Not getting any chance for anything other than a couple of drive bys with the Nikon - work has been interfering and I'm running a wee workshop for the next few days so won't get any chance to do my own stuff then either.

The last Rydal shot is lovely. Like the trees a lot. I need to put it on my list :-)

These two drive by shootings are all I've managed in ages.

Thanks mate - it was taken from the path to/from Loughrigg fell. The second time I have been there with good light without a tripod. Had to shoot at large aperture and 1600 ISO...Good job I have a steady hand as even at 1600 ISO and f/5.6, the shutter speed was 1/6

Basically it's along from Miller's Bridge Ambleside, take first turning on the left quite a stiff climb up on a tarmac path that turns into a track. This was taken close to the first gate with a wall just low enough for someone of y diminutive stature to shoot over...

The grounds of Rydal Hall has lots of Oak trees that will be great to shoot when they have shed their leaves

Equipment failure. I took along a small hiking tripod for after sunset and the darn head was loose and I didn't have an Allen wrench to tighten it. The gusting wind moved the camera apparently on the slow shutter speed shots because many of these were blurry. I should have chimpped for focus before leaving the spot. This one was barely usable.

You don't say

I thought it was a scene from a remake of When Worlds Collide.
