I find this image 'intro-to-horror-film-trailer-like' unsettling. Is something coming down that road, perhaps a long way off now, getting closer... only the dog can hear, smell, sense something...

Great shot! I love the tone, the pop and the mystery. The composition is brilliant too as the dog connects perfectly to the background.

Nice effect and atmosphere. It looks like it was done with the Brenizer method. I can get a similar effect with the 105/2.4 on my Pentax 67 when wide open. That's practically a f1.2 on 35mm format.

I think the EF 28 will be useful for both bodies - it's next on my list...
If it's the new 28mm f2.8 IS model, I highly recommend it. The optics are outstanding, equal to my favorite DA Ltd lenses.

That's the one - got it last night :-) Used the $200 rebate from the 17TS toward it. Did not want to spend $49.99 for the hood (store would take 10 off the $59.99 price) so I'll order knockoff hoods for that and the 50 1.8 from BH when they open. Also will replace the side-pinch cap with a center-pinch cap.

Thank you guys for your comments.
I used to take photos of my dog much more before.
I'm almost everyday at that place with him during our regular daily walk, but it never crossed my mind to take that kind of photo. It was actually quick snap, and only after some post processing i liked it.

Huge CosPlay expo in Shanghai and I've always wanted to give this a try. It was absolutely crazy in there, so many people ! This is the first I've processed. I'll put up a series once I've finished the processing.

D800E & D300/2.8 VRII (the only way I could near any of those in costume) ! I thought I'd be using the 35/1.4 and 135/2 the most

So despite my kit woes (Contax G adaptor wasn't delivered though my Contax R90 was and my OM adaptor arrived but the Oly Zuiko 24/2.8 didn't !) I was still able to enjoy the FE 55/1.8 on the new Sony A7 during my trip to my wife's hometown. We drove the 5 hours there from Shanghai (great roads) and from there, after a short break, drove the final couple of hours out into the beautiful countryside of Wencheng County in Zhejiang Province in China.

This the first shot I have processed. It's of the 207m high (close to 700 feet) Bailinshan Waterfall. The second is a near 100% crop. I am able to compare these next to the shots from my primary for the day, a D800E and Zeiss 21mm. They did well, very well.

So, did you shoot this with the Sony A7 or Nikon d800e? Not entirely clear from what you just wrote.

Le Moon

Taken with my 70-300

This is why i love high megapixel count. I was able to do something with the $400 lens that otherwise might need a lens that costs much more.

Sorry ! It was taken with the A7.

Following on from the CosPlay Shanghai - Solo single shot I put up earlier. Here is the first Series from the day. D800E / 135/2 DC and mainly the 300/2.8 VRII (all wide open).

OK you can't see her outfit but I like it anyway

Included this one again since it is a part of the series.

Couple portraits of the lady friend:

She also got a few of me with my cam, so here are a couple of her contributions for this thread.

One with the 85, and another less flatteringly with the 24:

Beauty Porga and liking those monos Chris.

Working pretty much every day and have been for a bit so photography has unfortunately been taking a back seat. Quick snap of the dog yesterday and a couple from work the day before. The helicopter was a very quick grab. I was passing the wheelhouse as it appeared. No time to change settings so end up in Aperture, f4 and ISO640.......
