Passing the LA Coliseum on the way to the Bug Fest.

Dragging the stick across the frog's back makes a croaking sound.

I had just switched to the 28. This or nothing.

I picked up a 24 - 70 GM yesterday, and from all the feedback online was expecting it to be a monster. Perhaps because I have been carrying the DA645 28 - 45, I found it considerably lighter than suggested. First impressions are that it is sharp with good contrast. Still don't much like focussing by wire, when the light fades autofocus fails, and focussing fully to the right isn't it seems infinity.

Another image from the (somewhat dreary) tail end of my trip, at Cape Disappointment State Park on the Washington side:

A couple years ago I went backpacking to capture the alpine larches in their autumn colors here in the North Cascades. Spent some time revisiting an image from that set that I liked but could never quite get the "right" feel for in post processing:

The dichroic skylight at the California ScienCenter.

Real gold leaf on the balls.

A bit of steam wafts up here.
