That's one difference between the Batis and the Tamron. I do love the Batis, but the Tamron is a very good lens. I like it. Heavier than the Batis and a bit more unwieldy. But it will get use...Batis is sharper, but the Tamron is still sharp. Especially between 15 and 24mm

Spent the afternoon in the Langdale Valley in the Lake District. Some fine cloud came over the type that the sun can get through the worst kind for photography as everything gets blown out, so I had a couple of pints of good ale in the Britannia Inn in Eltewater village sat outside until the cloud cleared away...then returned after a wander and had dinner before heading to Elterwater itself (the 'lake' - though strictly it's a 'water' - The English Lake District has only One lake - bassenthwaite. The remainder are tarns, meres, or waters)

All with Sony A7RII

FE 24 - 70 f/2.8 GM

1. Lone Silver Birch tree which seem to flourish around the slate quarries, disused and in use...

2. After dinner...

3.

4. Tamron 15 - 30

This was a digital preview for a shot using some sheet film and development time testing for it. I liked it enough to keep it.

A couple shots from yesterday in two (very) different environments. Woke up camped at Hidden Lake in a scree field along the North Cascades -- the night was unpleasantly spent inside a cloud that drowned out all sunset and sunrise light, but by midmorning the clouds broke and filled the valleys below dramatically. The abundant blueberries didn't hurt the spirits either:

Later in the day, a trip over to the Ballard Locks to see the migrating salmon moving through the steps:
