To quote my own post on the photo:


There aren't many places in Seattle where one can find good foregrounds for a beachfront composition. One of the few is in Golden Gardens park on the north end of town, and for the past few years I have made the occasional journey to photograph the old pilings that emerge between the tides.

Every year they seem a little smaller, and fewer of them remain. Down the way some beach-goers were climbing on top of them and taking photos in makeshift praying mantis pose. I've seen these pilings wobble and sway under the gentlest tides, so even where the karate kid doesn't take its toll, I suspect the water and the barnacles will.

Will these be here in five more years?

Spent the afternoon and early evening along the River Coupall in Glencoe in the Scottish Highlands. Some incredible light... All handheld as I left my tripod in the car

In Germany at the moment and in Biberach an der Riss in particular.

It has a beautiful market square and church:

A7R FE 24 - 70 GM

1. f/11 ISO 100 5 seconds - no tripod with me no leaned it on the edge of a table and held it steady



2. f/7.1 ISO 800 0.6 seconds handheld



3. f/11 ISO 100 2.5s leaned portrait on the table



4. f/8 ISO 800 0.5s handheld
