Fuji EVIL

What a nice EVIL. Very, very high ISO and a 2.0 lens to boot.

Knowing Fuji, I bet the sensor is out of this world and the colors pop in JPEG, the feature set looks nice too .. Hummmmmmm

Not Pentax & not DSLR. This should be in the Non-Pentax section or Mirrorlessforums.com

Oh c'mon Boriscleto, don't be a hater

This looks VERY cool. This looks like the perfect birthday gift for my dad in 2011. FujiFilm has made some very nice digi-cam offerings in the past, and it's nice to see something new, unique, and perhaps high-quality from them again. Plus, I LOVE the retro styling!!

Here's a link:

Fujifilm unveils FinePix X100 large-sensor compact: Digital Photography Review

This looks great. Fuji tends to do a good job with their lenses. If it performs as expected I will definitely be a buyer (in addition to a K-5)!

Here's a link to the brochure:

http://www.fujifilm.com/photokina2010/pdf/catalogue/finepix_x100_catalog.pdf

This looks really fantastic. I tend to agree with the over-the-top enthusiasm on rangerfinderforum:

Digital SOMETHING from Fujifilm - Rangefinderforum.com

Thanks Fuji!

Oh that is beautiful.

Does it use the new phase AF built into the sensor? I didn't see that bullet.

For what it's worth, I tried a NEX-5 and discovered that contrast AF isn't worth the electrons it lives on. At least for capturing pictures of a moving subject.

Good catch. Yes, this is probably not a camera for shooting action. Of course most of us will use it for other purposes. By the way, based on the brochure they have implemented a Leica-style trick for improving light collection near the sensor edge. They claim a substantial benefit vis-a-vis the standard (non-customized) sensor.

My guess is that this will be a pricey camera. I predict that it will be more widely praised than purchased. I really hope that I am wrong and that it sells like hotcakes. I would love to see other camera makers come out with competing designs.

I can't wait for this to hit the market.

This looks waaay cooler than anything - even trumps Leica IMO

Don't know about build quality and real life behaviour but from what I,ve seen until now, definitely on the wish-list

Doing the single in september challenge with a DA21 at the moment, and being generally happy about a single lens kit, and very much enjoying the MZ-5n control layout with diaphragm ring, shutter speed dial, and EV compensation, I got all excited about this thing. By the looks of it, it's damn near perfect in my eyes. If only AF works alright, that viewfinder is not too small or quirky, and there's a way to quickly control ISO (with the control dial maybe?). It looks like it'd be released by the time I'm done studying, so if I manage to get a proper job, I think I might go for it.

By the way, it's clearly no EVIL, having a fixed lens, and not exactly an electronic viewfinder. Just to get that straight.

It has switchable hybrid optical/electronic viewfinder, to be correct
Stylishly designed camera, I'm already love it and can't wait to see photos from it.
