I'd say they were pretty successful with it, personally. Prior to the G1 (and all the articles about its color options) a lot of the DSLR market barely knew Panasonic made anything but point-and-shoots.

The G1 came in multiple colors? I suppose now that you mention it, it may seem a bit familiar, but I don't know that I'd say they were successful with that aspect of it.

I know, I use mine for low light photography all the time. Well, maybe not all the time but certainly in the mornings and evenings.

I have used the T2i myself for a couple of events, loaned it from one of my friends, and the ISO performance is not so adorable. As long as the sensor size is same, there is no point just increasing the MPs...the ISO is going to scream no wonder.

almost all the new products of leader companies are more into marketing and massive consumers than prosumers and good products. you can see that t2i with the Magic Lantern firmware hack is even more powerfull than t3i in some instances. the hardware even have the potential but is locked down for marketing purposes. how sad!

It's true about the hacking. My brother just recently installed the latest version of Magic Lantern on the T3i that we share and he's been loving the improvements and increased options. Of course we were pretty happy with the camera to begin with, being our first DSLR and all.
