Adaptall 2 to Canon EOS

I have several Adaptall 2 Tamron lenses I use with my K10D and ME Super. I also have a Canon Elan II film camera that I would like to use with the Adaptall 2 lenses but I don't know which adapter to use. I have the PK and PK/A Pentax adapters and think I would need a Canon EOS adapter with electrical sensors to allow the lenses to work on the Canon in Av as they do on the K10D in Av.

I see an adapter at B&H for Adaptall 2 to EOS that says "non-dedicated". The only other adapters I can find for Adaptall 2/ EOS are off-shore brands with some reference to focusing either to infinity or NOT to infinity.

Any experience of advice on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You probably would have better luck on one of the Canon forums. I tried to find the B&H item you referred to, but it apparently is no longer listed. According to Wikipedia, Tamron made a Canon EF mount, but finding one might be difficult. KEH has one of the generic adapters, but there is a note that it is not backwards compatible to film cameras (locks camera up). Good luck...

From what I remember, Tamron made the EF adaptors only for a very short period. If you can find one, just grab it.

Thanks for the replies, and as I surmised there are Pentax users with experience and knowledge of other brands of cameras willing to help.

I have a genuine Tamron EOS AF mount but I find it easier to use an M42 Adaptall 2 mount and an M42 to EOS A/F confirm adapter.

does it give you infinite focus with both adaptors together?

Shouldn't be a problem. The Canon registration distance is short enough that you should be able to focus to infinity with any adapted M42 lens so long as the M42-EOS adapter is built correctly.
