Voigtländer Nokton 25mm f/0.95 price jumps from $899 to $1,299.99 !

The Photo Village :: Cameras & Photo Gear :: Digital & 35mm Film Cameras :: 35mm Film Cameras :: Voigtlander 35mm System :: Voigtlander Rangefinder Cameras :: Lenses & Accessories :: Lenses :: Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95 Nokton -- Micro 4/3 Mount

I paid $899 at PhotoVillage for my Voigtländer Nokton 25mm f/0.95 back in December and I see they are selling for about $1,300 on ebay.

Voigtlander doesn't produce their lenses for long. I imagine demand was high and supply low, hence the spike in price. I bet it'll stay that high or go higher unless they make another run of that lens.

Just imagine the deal people got that picked up the Voigtlander 125/2.5 for less than $500 when it came out...simply mindblowing. Too bad Pentax is off their list now (following suit with Zeiss). I love my 58/1.4, and doubt I'll ever let it go.

Now our hopes are on Samyang for new quality manual focus glass (for Pentax at least).

Just got a chance to look at your youtube links. I loved that first one, great insight into the company! I may just have to get a M4/3 system in the future if VL/Zeiss don't return to producing Pentax lenses.

Edit: BTW, now I know how to pronounce Voigtlander (Vfoklander).

Since everyone is saying back orders will probably extend at least throughout the summer I don't think you will see it available at B&H for that price this year. BTW PhotoVillage and B&H are close to each others location with B&H on 9th ave at 33rd st and PhotoVillage on Broadway at 26th st.

You're probably right...

I'm still stunned at how popular the 25/f0.95 is for a ridiculously expensive manual focus prime... (that said gees I want one )

Wow! I have that lens and much as I love it, it's not worth $2000.

I think Panasonic is supposed to release a 25mm F1.4 later this year.

No doubt. I think it will go for around what they are asking for the 7-14. I'll probably get it because along with 28mm (as in full frame 28mm) it's my favorite focal length. I really wavered between the GXR and the X100 because with the GXR I could get a 50 and a 28.

If the new Pen is good I will probably start getting rid of the Pentax gear. I put a G3 on pre-order but for some reason I'm drawn to Olympus. Sadly probably for the same reason I have a DP1/2 and EP2/PL2 and of course Pentax. The smart person would have just spent their money on Canon or Nikon I suppose. Me I have to go with the companies that are on the verge of bankruptcy.........

the price of the 25mm/.95 makes the 50/1.2 more desirable and a bargain for an MF lens. for similar price, I would just get the FA31 on a much larger sensor camera.

Bit of a difference between f0.95 and f1.8 though...
