Minolta find!!

My sister called me last Saturday asking if I would be interested in a large assortment of Minolta 35mm camera equipment, 4 bodies, several lenses, filters, bags, tripods, etc.. I said sure! This is most of what I got for the sum of $50.

This was the major find in the lot! A Rokkor 250mm f5.6 mirror lens in mint condition. Sells for $1000+/-..

I'm considering looking into a conversion on some of the lenses to use on my Pentax?? If not I will sell the items I dont have a need for and buy more Pentax gear!!

Martin

Nice find! Is there an 85mm there by chance?

I think the Minolta MD can be converted to K...of course there's going to be some machining involved...I've been reading up on this as I've got a few Konica lenses I was thinking of butchering into K mount

I dont believe there was an 85mm. A few 50's, a 24, a 100mm macro, a 100-500 and a few other zooms I believe?

I heard that the new Sony A55 is great for videos - does AF in video (like the previous model)

The 24 and 100 in particular may be worth something. Due to register difference converting to k-mount is not an option. I have a lot of MD glass still

You might try posting them on the MU43 or Serious Compacts forums. Minolta and Konica lenses are really prized by quite a few M 4/3 users. The adpaters are cheap. I have a Konica 40 F1.9 which I use on my EPL2. Really great lens.

I second this, some of these would be great on Micro Four Thirds!

Could you list the primes? I might be interested in some myself

The find consisted of 1- srt201, 2-srt202, and a x-700 body with power winder, all in near mint condition. The lenses were 2-50mm f1.7 Rokkor, 1-28mm f2.8 Minolta Celtic, 1-24mm f2.8 Rokkor with original metal sunshade, 1-100mm f3.5 Rokkor Macro complete, 1-50-135mm f3.5 Rokkor zoom with orig hood, 1-100-200mm F5.6 Celtic, 1-100-500mm Rokkor f8 zoom with orig hood and case. All of the lenses have orig caps too. The manuals were in with the papers on everything.

nice little find

Nice little find. An adapter is needed to fit to a Sony and you will lose most auto functions. I have several of these old (well made) Minolta lenses, but they do not fetch their true worth. The 100mm is likely to fetch $50, but you still have scored a bargain. I recently scored a Minolta bargain myself- a body and 58mm f/1.2 for $20.

What a find! I just had an XD-11 with 50mm F1.4 come in from Ebay for $60 and shipping. Last year I paid twice that for an SRT-101 (no lens, but new light seals and calibrated...).

Closest I could ever come to that would be buying my older brother's screw mount Yashica kit (but I have nothing in screw mount).

I still use my Minolta gear on a regular basis. Is the 24mm lens in good shape, Unruely?

Congratulations! Minolta MD cameras and lenses are excellent and fine cameras to use. Try some with film!
