Hasselblad too.

And there was the Tokina-Kenko merger or buyout or whatever.
That's three big photo-biz transitions in just one week.
The obvious question: Who's next?

Carlos Slim wants a new camera, so he buys Fuji and Kodak. You read it here first!

"Capital fund" can be good or bad...but it's all based on short term so it's usually bad.

I don't know - TPG (Texas Pacific Group - US Vulture, I mean Venture, Capital Fund/Pvt Equity Group) bought out Ducati Spa. - back in 1998 they bought 51%, and then the remaining 49% in 1999. They literally turned a bankrupt marque into arguably the most succesful non "Jap-4" motorcycle manufacturer out there today... Before selling it back to the Italians in 2005.. TPG had no idea about motorcycles - just how to run a business.... and it wholly worked bringing Ducati, as a company and as a marque, back from the dead....
