+1 Jasvox, nice find. Check out the manual exposure override button.

And from the comments on your page, a link to more pics. Interesting placement of the off switch. I wonder what the shutter lag will be like...

After seeing the video intro P1 from the Fujiguys i have changed my mind and will be getting this too even though i have the LX5, this is on a paper better.

primary reason:leaf shutter.

I'm strangely 'meh' about this - it just feels like the design has got muddled by trying to too closely follow the X100 aesthetic/form.

Not particularly impressed to be honest.

Looks like Fuji is set to not release an ILC, so that leaves the door open to others.

Why do you say that?

doesn't the LX5 and all P&S use leaf shutters?

X10 has a fantastic look. So tempted to get one...but I have to remember I love my K-5 and the 31mm...

Very cool that you zoom manually rather than a power zoom trigger...at least that is what it looks like.

But at $700...yikes! I'll be keeping my LX3 a bit longer.

I wonder if this is going to amount to anything of value: "The High Sensitivity and Low Noise (SN) mode aims to deliver better-quality low-light images with less noise, the Wide Dynamic Range (DR) mode offers an increased dynamic range for detail in both shadow and highlights, and the High Resolution (HR) mode uses full 12-megapixel resolution to deliver better detail in bright, even lighting." (source)

Seems, from this more detailed explanation, to amount to a matrix metering system.

P.S. For my fellow Canadians, Henrys appears to be taking preorders at $599.

I think Fuji has been doing something similar for quite a while with the point and shoots...

The X50/X10 appeals to me precisely because it is a rangefinder design. As such it us more of a snapshot camera (just look at the ergonomics, FL, and the fixed Len FOV) than an SLR. Therefore a smaller sensor is just fine so long as it sensitivity is up there with recent trends.

Any ILC with the Fuji hybrid VF is going to have lens limitations. Not too wide and certainly not much true tele. Probably no macro either. I'd say 4-5 primes max, taking on Leica at a Bessa price point.

But it's not a rangefinder and it doesn't have a fixed lens...
