Nikon 10-100mm has 72mm filters vs 62mm for the Panasonic 14-140mm !

The lenses for the larger MFT sensor cameras are smaller !

Yeah, the 14-42 is neat.

But the Pana 14-140/4-5.8 is not noteworthy. It would be 18-180/5.2-7.5 on APSC.

The Pentax DA 18-250/3.5-6.3 has a longer zoom factor and is faster throughout the range.

And still it is identical size and weight to the Panasonic lens. Both use 62mm filters too. And their optical formula is almost identical too (and photozone.de sees no big difference in optical performance for the aperture/focal-ranges covered by both lenses). Which doesn't prevent the Pana lens from being twice as expensive though ...

So what?
Doesn't make the Pana lens look any better ...
And an improved version of the lens is still available new as Tamron's 18-270.

There is no 18-270mm in K-mount.
Tamron -All-in-One Zoom Lenses (Di II Lenses)

I only use my GH2 in HD video mode and Pentax is not even close to the GH2 in video quality. Here are some GH2 videos with 14-140mm:

BTW on my K-7 I use the 10-24mm & 28-300mm Tamron.

you can find plenty of used DA18-250 and the Tamron version for sale. Try the forum marketplace, Ebay, etc. No shortage of them.

I hoped you would understand my point but already feared you'd respond by the response I quote.

I didn't talk about Pentax. I talked about this particular Pana lens which you seem to love. I only wanted to illustrate that it isn't such a nice lens when compared to APSC alternatives. As it is slower, shorter at the long end and much more expensive without being smaller, more lightweight or optically better.

I care because it is just one example that smaller sensors don't necessarily lead to smaller or cheaper systems if system performance is kept a constant.

I concede the GH2 with that lens is a nice system for video though.
