All of my adapters with NEX from RainbowImaging have arrived. My K20D is still in repair and you have to bear with me on my point&shoot product shots with Fuji F30

Both the K and M42 adapters are a bit too big that will likely double the length of a pancake lens. In the above pictures, I have the 43mm limited sitting next to the adapters for a relative size comparison. Among the 4 adapters, the most promising one is the Lecia L39 or M39 mount. The auto-110 is the smallest but I can only do wide open shots due to no diaphragm control.

Cheers,
Hin

Looking forward to see some blog posts on these!

For compactness, contax g adapter and leica l39 adapter are about the same size if thats what you're after...

I was cheap - I just got a K tilt adapter and an M42 one

Did you receive the Industar lenses? I am curious how the 110 lenses will work - can they even cover an APS sensor?

Yes, the Contax-G adapter is smaller but the Contax-G lenses almost equal in price to new Voigtlander lenses in Leica M mount.

LBA virus comes back and get mutated in 5-folds with different adapters. Damn the mirror-less systems with open-source availability of lens mount for easier adoption. I should have gone into a single route with Leica M mount with one single adapter and I will not have the money to spend quickly to get bunch of inexpensive lenses to try.

For the Pentax Auto 110 lens performance, they do better in the M4/3 mount and it appears to match the smaller sensor in M4/3 and that in Pentax Q. I don't see that much vignette in the corners in the link below with pictures taken in Panasonic GH1 that I mention in page 1 of this thread. I quoted below for your research.....

My two industar pancakes have not come yet. I am hoping the Industar 69 in M39 will work great on my NEX 5N as the adapter for M39 is relatively thin like the Leica M to NEX adapter. Those M39 lens are inexpensive to try and I will report back. The lens and adapters tend to be smaller in the range-finder type of lens as in L39, M39, Contax-G, Olympus Pan-F etc.

Cheers,
Hin

Have they gone up that much in price? ouch,
I think Sonnar T* 90mm F2.8 may be still quite cheap for what it delivers.

Snapshots in Rich b&w comes out quite happy for me especially in the center. The color ones will have some working to do on color but I need more time to work things out. I can't wait to try my tiniest lens in street shooting in b&w. It has an old time feel in the pictures with some noticeable soft and vignette corners but otherwise, they are screaming happy to work with the 5N as a miniature setup.

Cheers,
Hin

You have to bear with me as my K20D is in CRIS for repair. I do have a few shots using my point and shoot with Fuji F30

A shot of the front. The back is a flip-up screen protector that I purchase separately. And with the LCD tilted to horizontal position, the set up will look like a waist level finder similar to a TLR type of shooting. But I won't get into the problem with image reversal as in TLR shooting.

This shows the back of the LCD and WLF screen protector. The red color you see is the wonderful feature in Sony that is called Peak Focusing where focus area can be tuned to color of your choice and you can customized a soft key for 'Manual Focus Assist' whereby the LCD will magnify the focusing area to a big magnification for critical focusing. It is this feature that get me sold into NEX. The optional viewfinder is another choice for add-on but it cost too much as in $349.00. I am trying to do without it and see what happens......

Peek focusing at work shooting/aiming at the Pentax DA 35mm f/2.8 limited macro.

Thanks,
Hin

Quite happy with the kit zoom lens and b&w in Sony NEX 5N. These shots are straight Jpg in b&w with +1 contrast and +1 sharpness

If you are interested, I would be willing to lend you one of my Jupiter-8 50/2 in LTM. It is not a pancake, but is still a fairly tiny lens and only measures about 1 1/4" long from flange to filter ring. PM me if you are interested.

Thank you for your kind offer. I will bug you later on to learn about the differences with LTM and Leica L39/M39. I do have a copy of Industar 69 28mm f/2.8 in M39 mount and I have used the pancake successfully in my NEX 5N. I will report it later more late on this thin pancake from Russia.

Tried Pano sweep with Pentax Auto Pan Focus 18mm f/2.8

Not too bad considering the lens is used wide open. I have ordered diaphragm that look like these from jinfinance ebay store

And I will report back how the experiment goes into stopping down the Auto 110 lenses from wide open shots.

Thanks,
Hin

How does the aperture mount to the lens/adapter? I figured that sooner or later somebody would start building Auto 110 to mirorless adapters with a built in aperture seeing as there is plenty of space to work with.

I happened to end up with a copy of the 18mm f/2.8 that focuses included with some other gear but I haven't decided what to do with it.
