A lovely old auto-focus camera, very advanced for it's time with the optional programming chips.

I bought one in England in 1987-8 and only got rid of it around 2005.

I see from your profile that you are in England, in North America this camera was known as the Maxxum 7000i.

Minolta Goodness

Congrats on your find.

The Minolta SRT 101 is a beautiful classic and was my very first camera. My Maxxum/Dynax 5000i is also very capable and a quite good, if not very exciting, camera. I have been looking for a good example of a 7000i or 9000i but have not found one yet that fits my retired person price profile. Based on what I have read and been told by others the 7000i/9000i was very advanced for its time and is still a very good camera if you want auto focus and auto exposure.

What I loved about it was the overall feel in my hand, it just felt good.

The 'P' reset button was good, if you totally screwed up the settings you could press 'P' and get everything back to how it was.

A very nice camera that could be used automatically or manually. I now regret getting rid of mine as trade-in.
