Some great photos in this thread! Especially like the OP's, zav's and twitchphoto's.

Here's one of son #2 with the iPhone 4S in good light:

And here's one that shows how bad it is in poor light :

Man - nothing I have looks this good. Is my camera app (ProCamera) the problem or is it operator incompetence? (I think we know the odds of the answer).

+1

I don't use any third-party camera app right now, just a little tweaking of these jpegs in LR.

One of my favorite pics that I've ever taken was with my iPhone 3... you can definitely see the pixelation when enlarged even a little bit, but I enjoy the lens flare.

Excellent idea Jay! I got my Samsung Infuse 4G back in November and have been quite impressed with the phone cam performance. As mentioned in comments above, the jpegs don't stand up to close inspection (or much PP, for that matter) and I have found that the 8 megapixels are pretty much wasted. I generally use mine at a much lower resolution and get equivalent results.

My only complaint is that I have trouble holding it steady during exposure using the "soft button". Bottom line is that the phone takes great pictures and it is unlikely that I will ever carry a digital P&S again.

Some samples:

(Tons of PP using the "LittlePhoto" app done in-phone)

(rubber snake...)

Again...heavy PP. After all, it is a dragon egg!

I just import the images using Lightroom - it detects the phone as a device and allows me to suck them in to the catalog with a click. A couple other ways you can do it:

* Plugin your iPhone to the computer without iTunes running
* Wait for a popup asking you what you want to do with the device
* Select “View Content”
* Find your photos through the folders that are displayed
* Copy in Windows as usual

Or, check this link for some free transfer software (untried) ---> link
