X-posted image. Pny G9 + Oly 12~100mm @ 100mm, cropped as the lens will not focus this close. From time to time, image to image, I am pleased and surprised with the IQ this lens can deliver..

Tiny seaside daisy catching just a little sunlight in the shadows.

E-M5ii with 40-150 pro and 1.4x convertor (don't really need the convertor on, but I happened to be using it at the time).

Surprises me how competent the 40-150 pro is with small things.

If you let me join your brigade.

I still have the E400, won't it be superfluous?

Hi all, what's a good m43 camera to look for used, particularly if I want to take casual video? I like the size and format of the GX9 but it doesn't have a mic jack... then again if I'm just taking videos of my kids will I even use a mic? Maybe not.

I'd love to pick something up used for less than say $800 or so to complement my Pentax KP, which I love but the video is not so hot.

I've posted other versions of this scenic earlier, but I cannot remember which threads. Hopefully not this one.

For shooting children, you need a good fast autofocus. In M4 / 3, this is the om-d of the first series. Only they have hybrid autofocus. There is another 5M3, but it is new and expensive.I did not have a Panasonic, but many people note that the technology from Panasonic is still far from perfect and inferior to Olimus.I also advise you to pay attention to the Olympus 25mm f / 1.8. it is cheap and will exceed your expectations. It is beautiful from the open.It will allow you to shoot at shorter exposures, with sufficient depth of field.

You're probably right. My Panasonic GX85 is definitely not quick to focus. With the Oly 75-300 it's positively slo-o-o-ow.. With shorter lenses it's less bad, but still not something I'd use for action shooting in any way.

Panasonic has a dfd system. Which only works with Panasonic lenses. And even in this combination, there are questions about how the system works. Olympus in this regard looks more versatile. of course, if autofocus matters to you.

Ok, so it's not just their dual image stabilization that requires Pany lenses, then. Good to know, thanks.

For me it doesn't really matter much, I rarely shoot fast moving subjects.
