Anyone has good or bad things to say about the sigma 19/2.8 EX DN?

Made the purchase because right now I only have the Oly 40-150/4-5.6 andfigured I need something normal. Got it for $90 (tax included) with hood and caps from KEH; I reckon it is a fair price for the sigma, hope I am not wrong.

I wouldn't take it. In the secondary market, if you pay a little extra, you will take 25mm F1.8. A very decent glass, underestimated in my opinion. It will give you more blur and, in my opinion, a nice bokeh.
If you wanted something wider, then there is a cheaper and more compact Olympus 17mm f2.8 lens.

Thanks for the options.. I did make the purchase already. Thus far I cannot complain. Main use is for family / point-and-shoot type of shots... My M43 camera is not the best either (E-PM1).

So, I took advantage of some lower prices to get a new monitor, which has a much higher resolution, and is of better panel quality. I am also using Darktable, and have tried some new presets. To my eyes, this has made things look very good indeed, but feedback is most welcome!

Autumn trip to Algonquin park - a quick overnight that ended up being a solid walk in and out. Great fun, although a bit soggy. More to come.

E-PM1. Evil tongues claim that your camera has a massively improved autofocus system compared to older PENs. And the color is better than on the new Olympus models. Upgraded matrix from E5. So I'm looking at these inexpensive cameras and thinking about buying one).

Many thanks. I have been trying to justify a new E-M5 III and this non-camera upgrade has demonstrated that what I though was a (somewhat) lack of image quality was not. I may pick up another camera that has a faster shutter speed than 1/500. And it may also not be new.

There was a lot of controversy over renovating vs. tearing out the old, failing dam. The "wild river" people really wanted the river "free," but the dam backs up the river for miles, making it usable by canoes, kayaks and small outboard-powered boats, one of the best fishing stretches hereabout, and flooding areas left and right of its banks creating wetlands where herons, other waterfowl, turtles, frogs, fish you name it are thriving. Thank goodness they restored rather than demolished the old dam. IMHO it would have been an ecologic crime to revert to a "free river" after centuries of deep, wide water

I'm familiar with that debate. It can get additionally complicated if the dam is holding back a century's worth of silt--especially if that silt may be contaminated.
