Hey Marcos, I'm curious as to the location or source of these photos - and wondering if there's more (I like 'em)

Hi, they are from a temporary exhibition at the MoMA.
It's a great exhibition showcasing the extensive work required to make the film.
I need to go back and take more.

Concern about used product I purchased

Hi all, I purchased a very lightly used Oly 100-400mm lens and have a concern. There's a bit of internal "rattle" - not loud or heavy. I would ask any of y'all who have one of these lenses to check and see if yours has this internal light 'rattle'.

Appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Additional comment: I would call the noise a "light clunking".

Hmm... can you feel anything moving?

My first thought would be that it is the in-lens stabilization.

@northcoastgreg has this lens, so maybe he will chime in...

This is a tricky one, because I've experienced two types of "rattles": one which is very short and light and usually happens when I first pick up the camera + lens and focus it, the other heavier and longer which seemed to be related to the battery grip I'm using (I've reduplicated it with Oly 17). The first rattle is innocuous and probably has someting to do with the IS or AF waking up. The second was more disturbing and seemed to be cured by turning off the setting that automatically focuses the lens to infinity when the camera is shut off.

Normal operation with the lens should not have any rattles. It should focus and stabilize quietly, except when its being in effect woken up to use again. And it should deliver reasonably sharp results, even at 400mm, wide open. There are people online who say that can't always distinguish results from this lens from results from one of Oly pro superteles. The Oly 100-400 is of course not as good as those pro lenses, but the differences can be pretty subtle.

Thank you both for your responses - based on your comments and my testing the lens, I think it's most likely the IS system. Focus is fast and sharp at both ends and I can see the IS work through the viewfinder. I'm on a learning curve with this lens, but so far I'm pleased with it.

Thanks again - and I'll get some photos with it posted soon.
