I caught some Aurora Borealis light pillars rolling overhead last night on the Olympus EM1X and Laowa 7.5mm F2

Sorry about that. A variety of factors have kept me from doing any photography recently. I'll try to get a few experimental images over the weekend. At least a picture inside the study which has lotsa book cases that could reveal IQ out at the edges.

Sorry you haven't been able to get out there! I will enjoy whatever you post but not concerned about IQ as what I've seen elsewhere has already impressed me well enough (and I'm generally not on the picky end of the spectrum)... It's just timing here for when I get out of the shooting hibernation I've been in as well...

It's nice getting the same 120 fov as our Laowa 12mm FF beasts at a third of the size/weight, plus a filter thread..

Laowa 6mm = 188g, 58mm filter thread..
Laowa 12mm FF = 609g, 100mm filters...

Not sure if any of y'all living the upper latitudes (like Maine or Minnesota or Idaho, etc) saw last nights Aurora Borealis display, but from news reports I guess it was a lot lower than normal. I live in Wisconsin and didn't know about it until tonight's news.

I plan on being out tonight, probably sitting in a lawn chair, camera at hand, hoping to see the display!!

If any of y'all get lucky and get some photos of the Aurora, please post 'em!!

A news item this morning, and a picture, of northern lights seen in the Carolinas. As you sometimes told students in a geology course., there are forces under your feet and over your head that care less about you than you do about ants when you unknowingly step on them.

I sat out til about midnight, then checked again at 2:30AM - nothing. But, I did get a fairly decent picture of the crescent moon.

Taken with my M5iii and the new to me Oly 100-400 - handheld.

Nice picture of the moon.
I was thinking on driving upstate NY to get a picture of the aurora but I didn't.

Instead here's a picture of my feral cat before rain started.
