how are you liking this combo? Have you discovered any deal breaking shortcomings with the 12-32?

I'm looking at purchasing an EM5 and Panny 12-32 aswell.
I've been moving house so haven't had a chance to use it in anger yet I'm afraid - but first impressions are good.

Seems pretty sharp, not much subject isolation (not the lenses fault per se!), weird ergonomics though with the twist to open and the power switch on the back.

Sorry, hadn't realised this was a 'Britishism'...

Google gives me "it is generally used in British English to mean used for its intended purpose, or used for real rather than in tests. It's not necessarily used in a military context."

Neat expression. Thanks for the explanation.

My favorite lens. This was taken with a Panasonic G3.

While others are taking photos with their phone and posting immediately or taking photos with a more serious camera to post later, I have the best of both worlds. The tilt screen of the GX85 really helps get the low angle here and the camera's WiFI makes transferring a handful of (JPG only) photos to my phone easy. Once there, a couple of quick tweaks in Snapseed and it's off to Facebook.

Not only that, but this is the GX85 in 4K photo mode, where I can choose the best shot out of a 3 second 4k video sequence. All in all, this a good camera for youth sports.

You can see some fringing in his hair; it's hard to notice and spot this stuff while editing on a phone, even the 5.5" screen of my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. I could have spent more time on it, but sometime you want to share quickly. Before we left the tournament, the photo was liked a lot on Facebook by family and friends and I was able to show my great nephew a photo of him in action. He was so proud of himself and didn't notice the fringing.

Berlin Insulaner (rubble mountain from WWII residuals, now a park) with Observatory. Olympus OM-D E-M5 II with 12-40 and struggling light conditions (quite bright day, few clouds, almost taken against the light). I was tweaking the RAW heavily with Olympus Viewer 3 (I completely new to this) to rescue some clouds, retaining decent shadow details and getting a nice hard-but-not-too-much contrast.

I am not 100% satisfied but I didnt get it better. Any advice? ND (or else) filters maybe?

You might get more specific advice in the Critique forum if you wanted to also share the photo there

What's your verdict on the 12mm, Greg?

@yucafrita: Graduaded ND (GND) or Exposure Blending could help. Ansonsten gilt auch: "In der grellen Mittagssonne, sind die Bilder für die Tonne!" oder "Zwischen 12 und 3 hat der Fotograf frei!"

The Oly 12 is my first taste of high-end Olympus glass, and I'm quite impressed. The lens is very sharp edge to edge, and is very contrasty, with rich, vibrant, beautifully saturated color. After using the lens and examining the images it produces, I'm beginning to understand why Mike Johnston ranked Olympus as the second best (behind Ziess and ahead of Leica and Pentax) lens manufacturer. I also appreciate its small size (it's smaller than it looks in online photos). I've been using some of the old HG lenses with my EM-5, and those lenses are big and heavy and sort of go against the whole compact vibe of m43. It's been liberating once again to use a small lens, especially one that doesn't involve any compromises in terms of image quality.

Incidentally, Oly is still offering a black Oly 12 for $480 at their U.S. based outlet store (for "reconditioned" products). They're offering an additional 20% off today and tomorrow, so I expect whatever remaining stock will go pretty quickly.

One more from Oly 12:

Amazon dawn, in Iquitos, Peru. Olympus OM-D E-M5 II with 12-40, no tripod therefore ISO a bit high and noise... taken through a window, no dirt on my glass...

Was pretty nice there...
