Honeybees amidst the goldenrod...

Kit 12-60 + Raynox DCR-250 (for those curious, the first photo is slightly cropped, the second photo is not cropped at all, and the last photo is significantly cropped)

You got nice and close! Did the lucky bear acknowledge your presence at all?

It took me a few minutes on your Flickr page, but I found all 11 salmon.

It took me a few minutes as well

That was at Anan creek bear observatory with a lower blind situated right at creek level. The bears were primarily focused on the salmon traffic and avoiding larger bears. They completely ignore photographers and gawkers as long as you don't get between them and the creek.

This was the scene immediately upstream from the blind, accounting for the salmon logjam as they navigate the rapids. It also allowed me to use the computational feature (built in ND filter) in the OM-1

853 snaps today with my Panny G9 + kit 12-60 + Raynox adapter. Lots of bursts of 4 or 5 shots after locking AF - mostly honeybees scrambling on flowers - and some chimping. The battery level is indicating 3 of 4 bars. I'm impressed with the battery life.
