Pentax Lens on Canon T2i?

I am really thinking about switching from my Pentax K-x to the Canon T2i mainly because the K-x does not provide the video quality and settings that I need. While it is not necessary, I was wondering if there was any way to attach my Pentax SMCP-FA 50mm f/1.4 Lens to the Canon T2i? Any answers will be greatly appreciated!

You can find adapters from several companies that will allow a K-Mount lens to attach to a Canon. It's the other way around that's really hard to do. Take a search around the big online camera stores, and you'll see quite a few in various price ranges that will accommodate you.

Good luck,

Thanks! I just placed an order for the T2i, so hopefully I will be able to find some!

I meant to ask why you didn't consider the K-01? Of course, I could probably guess a number of reasons, but the T2i is a nice camera, and you'll be opened up to WAY more lens options with the canon mount.

Mainly the price. Plus, the Canon T2i is known for its amazing video capabilities and wide variety of lenses.

I definitely agree Canon sets the bar for video performance out of a dslr. Panasonic does a nice job, too, but of course we're not talking of 4/3rds. I also think having an optical viewfinder is essential when you are shooting outside on a sunny day. As long as pocket-ability isn't an issue (which you can't shove the K-01 down your short pocket anyway), you'll enjoy your T2i, and may ultimately find yourself upgrading to a more sophisticated Canon system down the road, as they'll definitely have that option for you.
