Pentax needs a $3,000 36mp FF DSLR with K-mount to compete with the D800 and not a $10,000 645D with $5,000 wide angle lens IMHO.

Well a 60 megapixel CMOS sensor size 44x33mm in 645Dn would also make a great camera. It is not always about a bigger sensor, I think that the limited sized sensor in 645D isn't at it end at the time.

You need to compare parts of the picture from one camera to the next that are both in focus before you think one is sharper than the next.

You are right, but comparing sharpness from different cameras at their native resolution is a pointless exercise anyway. They're all equally sharp, assuming a good lens, adequate shooting (focus etc.) and proper post processing. So, it only serves to compare colors and noise.
