weird images from sony

I post this for a friend of mine. She has an older Sony DSC F828 that is now producing weird pics. Two examples. Could this be a sensor going bad? I have no idea, but I suspect it's not worth fixing. Neither shot has been photo shopped. This is what is coming right from the camera.

That second one is wild for being straight off the camera. I'd keep that camera for its artistic character. And yes, it's a bad sensor, I think.

yikes - I concur, that is a sensor that is on the way out - sad the Sony F828 always had a stellar reputation especially with that Zeiss lens.
