See also Fuji X Forum X-E1 as backup for X-Pro1 - Fuji X Forum for more comparisons, for instance

What I would ask Fuji is to pick a spot for the "play" button and to stop moving it around! It gets confusing moving between the X100 and the X-Pro1.

I suspect I'd be a bit peeved if I were an X Pro 1 owner...

I am one, and I am not going to be peeved about a rumor.

There's three possibilities to explain faster AF with the same lenses:

1) Better firmware, which would be ported to the X-Pro1.
2) Better hardware, this would be unfortunate, but at least it would mean Fuji is learning from its errors. Since I will be in the system for the long run, due to its great lenses, this will also benefite me later on.
3) Sony's new hybrid sensor with phase detection (I believe Fuji are using the Sony's 16mp as the base for their XF sensors, but I could be wrong). Couldn't blame them for not using a product that was not available.

Anyway, as I said, it is just a rumor, and we will have to see just how "better" the AF speed is. The main problem is with the 60mm macro, and I doubt it will be fixable, due to the range of movement needed by that lens.

Hopefully they have come up with a better EVF than is in the X100 (which is awful).

It looks to be improved. I for one wouldn't mind a better EVF. But really I don't see what the big deal is. You don't need to read a newspaper with it. The old one doesn't stop you from seeing the composition or taking the photo. Frankly I really never notice the quality of the EVF when I'm taking a shot. But that's me. And you really don't need to chimp through the EVF either, IMHO.

X-pro 1 and X-10's bastard child

I'm in a quagmire of deciding upgrade to a Canon 5D3 or jump again to another system

The FUJIFILM X-E1 (body only) will be available in November 2012 for $999.95.
NEX-7 EVF and improved focusing - sounds interesting.
