iPhone 5 purple flare issue

Comment from Apple:

"Our engineering team just gave me this information and we recommend that you angle the camera away from the bright light source when taking pictures," read the e-mail, as reported by Gizmodo. "The purple flare in the image provided is considered normal behavior for iPhone 5's camera."

That D300 user needs to clean his lens. And put on a hood.

My inferior Samsung product is incapable of producing the beautiful purple flare...I am angry and wish even more that I owned an iPhone 5s...

The purple flare only enhances the instagram effects.

I suggest you buy a camera if you want to take photos. My 2005 Canon SD630 takes much better photos than what I've seen come out of the iphone. Or maybe not point your phone into the sun. YMMV.

Hahaha!

Sounds exactly like:

Customer: "My car keeps pulling to the right, something seems to be wrong."
Mechanic: "Yes, we have a solution for that: You should actively keep steering to the left a bit."

It's a feature not a problem. Soon to be patented by Apple.

Canikon users say these sorts of things about Pentax. Talk, as they say is cheap, but none so cheap as the diversion affordable when your least favourite brand has a fault exposed. The diversion is usually to cover up your own or your brand's inadequacies.

All those who stick with the brand rationalise Pentax faults as either irrelevant, excusable or fixable with the next upgrade. Sound familiar? I'm in the first category, mostly, btw.

Yep, they're going to sue every camera and lens maker in the world. Flare is now an Apple feature!

Hm, maybe I've noticed this in my own photos but I guess I don't look at photos taken by my phone that closely. They just need to be good enough that I don't need a point and shoot...
