Ahh! Lovely! Looks like a manageable size for "small lenses guy" like me. Very interesting lens!

I'd be very interested if I was looking into the Nikon full-frame camp. Fantastic looking lens!

I see it as the Pentax DA* 50-135 2.8 replacement, the lens i loved the most after the FA Ltd's. Nice range, and f/4 isnt to bad on FX.

Nikon NIKKOR AF-S 70-200mm f/4G ED VR Telephoto Zoom Lens 2202

$1400 seems a bit steep for a DX lens, though, considering that Canon's stabilized 70-200mm F4 is only $1100.

Adam, it's an FX lens. I think B&H is just showing the equivalent focal length on APS-C.

It's a direct competitor to the excellent Canon 70-200mm f/4. I'm eagerly awaiting the reviews.

Actually, one big negative is that is appears to not be weather-sealed.

It's an FX lens.

Let's hope one does not need to stop it down a few stops to get decent performance. I think that would be an epic fail.

Also, it seems to have poor maximum magnification. Almost as bad as it's big brother, the 70-200/2.8 VRII.

EDIT: My statement above is wrong.

Actually, unless I read it wrong, the magnification is 1:3.6 - really pretty good.

According to the published charts, you wouldn't have to stop it down at all for sharpness.

This really looks like a pretty nice lens....

Thanks. I haven't seen that yet. I have my eye on this lens so I better check it out.

No, you didn't read it wrong. I did. And I am glad, I am much more excited about this lens now that I realize that its MFD is 3.28 ft.

Thanks for setting me straight.

This looks like it may be a nice zoom lens to accompany my 180/2.8D.
