Yesterday i got a Minolta X-7, mint condition, however it wont wind on, i put some new batteries in it and the shutter fired, so obviously it had been cocked, but it still wont wind on, has anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?

I think some more details might be in order: is anything turning when you crank the wind lever, is it stuck, etc? Do the spools spin freely or feel attached to things?

There's a few possibilities, such as, the rewind button beneath might simply be popped out when you crank, etc: it might respond to a little fussing about to free it up after sitting all those years.

One of the things about some of these old cameras in really perfect condition is, it's possible that's because there was some defect that had it put in a closet from nearly the start, even, or there may be effects from the disuse itself.

It's moves, and it's about 3/4 of the way around however it will not wind the last little bit, if you open the back and wind it on,you see the Shutter move more, however, it moves back again like it can't complete it's full cycle
