This could well be the Tokina version of the "DA Wide Zoom" one sees on the Pentax roadmap.

It was announced at CP+ (Yokohama, 31 January - 3 February 2013). Tokina just published additional details concerning this lens:

- Optical formula: 14 elements, including 2 aspherical ones (in yellow and in green in the diagram below) and 2 made of Ultra Low Dispersion glass (Hoya new glass, close to fluorites; in purple in the diagram below) in 12 groups
- Low-noise SD-M (Silent Drive Module) autofocus, probably close to Pentax's SDM
- Push-pull AF-MF focus clutch
- 9 aperture blades
- Minimum focusing distance: 0.25m (a bit less than 10")
- Maximum magnification ratio: 0.2x / 1:4.94
- Filter diameter: 77mm
- Dimensions: 84mm (diameter) x 90.2mm (length)
- Weight: 530g
- Sold with petal-shaped hood
- Price in Japan: JPY90,000 (a bit more than USD900)
- Available in late April (Nikon mount) and late June (Canon mount)
