Using the $200 Nikon 1 V1 as a 4K video camera

I thought this was really interesting, and I could see myself doing something with a bunch of 1s clips for my travels to form a compelling 'movie'.

You can shoot 4K video. But like that video clip, you certainly are not going to be showing it to anyone on the web.

The 4k is neat but really not necessary for web-video. And who has a 4k TV?

What is interesting is the RAW. Working with video files is as limiting as working with JPGs. RAW video would provide so much more latitude in post.

The V1 will also do 30FPS and 10FPS IIRC, and at 10FPS you can capture longer sequences.

I've had fun shooting at sports and action. This is what 30FPS looks like:
