Well, I guess I am an old photographer with too much money. I will definitely check the Nikon out if/when it appears. I have been asking for a "traditional" K-mount dSLR for well-nigh half a decade. If Nikon is willing to make it, then Pentax might be the loser.

These are my sentiments exactly.

I have got to say....I do not own a single bit of Nikon, but given the chance, I would buy that camera in a heartbeat.

I don't have words to describe how awesome that camera is.

I can't imagine a Nikonian, not selling a kidney for that camera.

Beyond camera porn.

Stunning.

As one who has too many Luddite genes for my own good... I love using the old manual cameras and lenses. But my inner geek loves the digital age. It's like Nikon picked my brains and merged the two.

Still awaiting the official specs, size comparisons, viewfinder info, pricing, and a chance to hands-on. If the VF is big and bright and plays well with mf lenses... I might be selling off some gear.

Here is a shot of the Df next to a Sony A7 and a Leica M.

I see now why Adam started Nikonforums.com.
BTW, is ThatNikonGuy going to say the design looks like 'a bag of @ssh0les designed in Soviet Germany?'

Would look even better with a FA31-style lens on it.

It's a very attractive design to this longtime film SLR user.
Frankly I'm surprised Nikon didn't do something like this before.
I guess they needed someone like Fuji to remind them of their roots.

Naw. Nikon is still irrelevant, because I own Pentax glass. On release of the Pentax FF, I'll have a 35, a 50, a 70, a 90 , a 70-210, and a 35-80 and an A-400, without spending a cent.

OK, I admit it. I love the concept... if Pentax released one, I'd buy it tomorrow, especially if it had a manual aperture ring with stop down metering...and a few lenses to go with it. My memory is kicking in and I'm starting to remember how easy it is to check your settings on a K-1000. Sometimes progress really sucks....
