Have you considered the DR spec?

All three are over 14 stops and the 0.5 stop difference could happen even among same cameras due to sample variation. Dxomark originally listed A7R at 14.4 EV for DR but later changed it to 14.1, again probably just a sample variation if they were testing more than one model

If there is that much sample variation going on with Sony's sensor fabrication something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

0.3 EV is that great sample variation? Really? Thats a news to be. Dxomark states that total point difference needs to be greater than 5 points for the difference to be visible to a human eye. D800 and A7R score 95 points, and D800E 96, totally irrelevant sample variation.

By the way, dxomark has examples where sample variation (or margin of errors) are much bigger than that. Look at even much bigger (far bigger) DR score between RX1 and RX1R

Sony RX1R vs Sony RX1 - DxOMark

even though we know for a fact that both sensors are identical.

Doesn't prove a thing.

A7R and D800 scores are identical on dxomark, just as I stated initially.

Identical sensors don't mean identical performance. Which holds especially true across systems.

I didn't say the sensor were identical. The performance is identical according to dxomark.
