Identify this mystery Rikenon lens on ebay

Hope this isn't breaking any rules, but I'm intrigued by this funny looking lens on ebay. I've asked the seller what it is but he says the only lettering on it is Tele Rikenon Lens, Made In Japan, 16875. I suppose the number is probably a serial number? I have a Spotmatic and a Ricoh KR-10 so I probably could use this lens...if it works...and if it's really a lens. What the hell is it??? RIKENON, Ricoh Telephoto Lense. 16875. Collectors | eBay

we lack of item we know to guess the size.

- Could be cine lens for example.
- Could be part of a spoting device (seems there is no aperture)
- Could be a specialized lens for a very specific purpose like some X-ray lens (pure guess)

Maybe it's just a promotional doodad for retaillers?

If I buy it and it's not a lens at least I could get a refund!

Possibly, but from the picture it's hard to tell. Those were lenses that screwed into the filter threads on fixed lens cameras. They usually came in a set of two; wide angle and telephoto.

Nope, I have seen those and they are not the same. I would suspect 8mm Cine.
