The Sony α7r (ILCE-7r) pictures thread

Here are some examples taken on the Summicron 50 - most of them taken wide open at f2 - the DOF is quite shallow, so I am going to specify where the focus point was in these photos.

Quite simply, the very first photo I took on the camera (other than test shots in my room) - focusing point is the jacaranda lilac flowers at bottom centre of frame:

Focus point for the next three photos is the eye of the statue:

Focusing point is the four petals facing the camera near centre of frame:

Focus point is the "belly button" of the doll on the right:

Focus point is the doll towards the bottom of the frame:

Focus point is the sun dial in the centre of the frame:

Focus point is the second stalk from the right:

f5.6, focus point is the centre of the stairs:

Summicron 90 photos.

Stopped to f4

I think this is wide open, focusing on the bunch on the bottom right:

Also wide open, focusing on the stalk on the right:

Focusing on the stalk in the middle:

Focusing on the back of the lizard:

And now for the torture test - the Voigtländer Super-Wide Heliar 15mm - there's significant vignetting, smearing and colour casting at the edges, but that can create a nice effect on certain pictures.

The colour cast is really obvious in this photo:

Carl Zeiss Biogon 2/25 ZM - no colour cast, and perhaps a touch of vignetting, but some smearing at corners:

Comparisons between the Carl Zeiss 25mm and the Voigtländer 15mm, showing the differences in the corner performance as well as perspective:

Looks like quite a bit of vignetting.

Still...nice that you can use the lens on it..

I took the camera and the Summicron 35mm to Darling Harbour.

Most of the shots here are taken with a neutral density filter and at f5.6, to optimise sharpness and contrast.

Here are two shots taken at f2 to show what the bokeh looks like:

Is the vignetting on all the photos displayed here a pp preference?

All the photos? Are you sure?

I can see vignetting in some of the photos (particularly the last two shot wide open) but not the ones at f5.6. And some of them are cropped, so if you think you see vignetting on all of them suggest you may need to check your monitor.

I can see slight vignette in sky on Eizo on some of those in your last post.
It is probably just the nd filter on the wide lens, the transmission off center goes through the filter glass at an angle on the wider lens.
There is some mention on internet.
Thanks for keeping us up to date.
