Reports put the list price at $1599.

I heard $1,699 from my Panasonic contact, but there might be crossed wires.

Just tested by LensTip:

Panasonic Leica DG Nocticron 42.5 mm f/1.2 Asph. P.O.I.S. review - Introduction - Lenstip.com

Pros:
  • high build quality,
  • brilliant image quality in the frame centre,
  • very good image quality on the edge of the frame,
  • very low lateral chromatic aberration,
  • practically zero distortion,
  • excellent coma correction,
  • low astigmatism,
  • out of focus image pleasing to the eye,
  • silent, accurate and quick autofocus,
  • efficient image stabilization,
  • good performance against bright light.
Cons:
  • high vignetting,
  • a bit too pronounced longitudinal chromatic aberration.
