Found this on Amazon site for Olympus m4/3 40-150mm lens:

It's small, lightweight and variable in performance - perfect for close-up portraits or long-distance scenes - and it is flexible for indoor or outdoor use.

No sense to flood the regular end consumer with extra info. Tell them what it does - end of story.
Based on that I think they are right on the money.

Don't make me start quoting some brilliant eBay product descriptions.

I'm not into lenses that claim to be variable in performance, and lenses that start at 80mm effective aren't my style for indoor use - but hey I never claimed to be a typical shooter anyway
