do we know what lens mount this new sony is supposed to use?
IF it actually comes to market, I assume it would be a new mount. The 50MP MF sensor is actually a lot smaller than 645 film and only about 30% larger than FF. A mirrorless body would benefit immensely from a new mount with lenses optimized for the sensor size. Its possible it could take Mamiya 7 lenses with an adapter. An adapter for 645 glass would be huge.

33x44 doesn't give really serious boost over 24x36. It is less than a stop and similar to the advantage the APS-C has over μ43. Not really serious, I repeat.

Never underestimate the difference using a bigger sensor will make to your images. Changing from 6X6 to 6X7 format numerically doesn't seem like a big difference, but in practice it can make a world of difference.

Up to 1.27˛≅1.61 difference in resolution. Well, that is quite an advantage indeed. I meant sensor performance in the previous post.

So the 40mp 33x44mm Kodak sensor in the Pentax 645D was ok but not the 50mm 33x44mm Sony sensor in the 645Z , Phase One IQ250 and Hasselblad H5D-50c medium format cameras ?

I'm more interested in the 4/3 aspect ratio. I'm not a fan of the 3/2. A large sensor 4/3 is on my wish list. I'm hoping Olympus makes a 4/3 body with a FF sensor, but that doesn't appear to be happening.

You must be missing something. I didn't specify a unit.

Don't menton that in the FF sub-forum, you will get jumped all over by APS-C apologists.
Never mind the fact that the difference between u4/3 and APS-C is much smaller than APS-C and FF.

Hasselblad hasn't been doing all that well in recent years, making atrocious cameras like the LUNAR or the Hasselblad HV has hurt their reputation. If I had the money to buy Hasselblad - I wouldn't....I'd rather take over sigma and make sure they release the "S" 120-300mm f/2.8 APO in pentax K mount.
