I've had my X-E1 body for about a month now. I'm using it as a camera back for my collection of Pentax-M and M42 lenses. Previously I was using an NEX-5n, but I wanted a viewfinder and better controls.

The fuji is like using an MX or LX film camera. Similar size, similar user feel with the shutter dial on the top right of the camera body. The adapted lenses act like aperture coupled lenses with regard to the light meter. This alone i feel is an improvement over using a modern Pentax DSLR.

If you are the type of shooter that wishes Pentax would make a DK1000 then I would recommend trying the X-E1 for use with your old lenses. If you can't understand why anyone would want a DK1000, then maybe go buy a D800 and leave us to enjoy our adapted lenses.

I'd be more then happy to answer questions about the X-E1 used with old lenses.

This is why I've been looking at the new XT-1 to be my LX-D. I would love to throw my FA 43 on it and just have it as a walk around camera that I can grab whenever I want. Now that my K3 is being turned into a video tool with wireless audio, slider mount, and other toys, I would like to have a small go anywhere camera again.

That was my plan....but I decided to get the Fuji 35mm f1.4 instead so i could have full metering and AF. And that 35mm is a superb, sharp lens
But i've seen samples of the 43mm ltd adapted, and it looks wonderful too

I very recently purchased a Fuji XT-1 along with a 23mm f1.4 lens. Today purchased a Kipon lens adapter which will enable my to manually should my FA Ltd's and my DA Ltd's. I'll keep my Pentax K3 and enjoy both. The BS remarks about history, legacy, system, etc are one persons opinion which I definitely do not share. What I find on this forum is passionate Pentaxians who in fact are now Ricohnians, formerly Asahians, Hoyans,trying to hang on to the past.it's a new world and a new day, every day....embrace it.

Capability of cameras, or comprehensiveness of lenses?
I have nothing against new systems. New needs friends. But new in order to be respected, must endure a test of time.

Just want to point out, that adapted lenses on the X-E1 have full metering. I far as I can tell the spot, matrix, and average metering all seem to work just fine.

The only functions missing are program mode, Shutter priority and autofocus.

I have the 27mm pancake on order. Really looking fwd to trying it out.
