It's from 2014, and probably back there in the thread somewhere, but how about a Flying Squirrel?

The only time I've seen a live flying squirrel (other than watching Rocky and Bullwinkle) was when I came upon youngsters peering out of a crack/hole in a very large old tree. I was walking the dogs, no camera with me. SFAIK flying squirrels at least here in MessyChewBits are actually more abundant than the greys - Hokey Smoke! - but because they are totally nocturnal, shy and very quick they are rarely seen.

I'm so used to our Fox Squirrels, which are essentially cat-sized. In the last week-or-so a couple of much smaller squirrels to have moved into the neighborhood - they are closer to cat-prey-sized. They seem to be very nervous on the ground - running to a local tree every few minutes. Today one was collecting seeds under the bird feeder ..... I was intrigued to notice that it was barely larger than a (Cardinal) bird.

I have mine from High School. My Science teacher said "Buy a good slide rule, you'll use it your whole life."

Sometimes I'd show my basic K&E slide rule to students who were using light-powered calculators just so I could hear them say; "What do you measure with it?"

No pun, just a comment that is wildly inaccurate in hindsight.

I look at it occasionally, but I've comepletely forgotten how to use it. 60 years will do that.
And I bought the cheapest one in the Ministry of Ed. bookstore.
