I think a Pentax FF (if it comes) needs to go after a different market.
Not existing Nikon users, but there are people who start out with Pentax, Olympus, or Sony APS-C and when it comes time to move to FF for their work, most of them seem to be heading to Nikon. The A99 doesn't seem to be attracting many move up users like Nikon.

This camera is one I feel Pentax could/should have made.
They copied the Pentax ergonomics and WR and provided the missing elements folks have asked for a while - FF, WiFi, Tilt Screen, decent video controls.
Even the carbon fiber construction lighter weight allows it to be flown in a drone setup for filming.

Apparently Nikonians are no different than Pentaxians.

This camera is getting slammed pretty hard over at DPreview.

"My initial reaction is that this is a huge disappointment."

"We whine because this is basically the same as the D600. This is one of the most boring releases ever."

"Nikon seems out of ideas "

There are a lot of great products out there, but no one has enough money to buy them all...
Except for the super wealthy, but they only will touch Leica products anyway

I think it's just because everyone is scared Scotland will actually leave the UK, and they're taking their frustrations out on companies that make cameras.

I think this is the camera that I and many other Pentaxians that want FF will buy if no FF from Pentax. There are two minor things.. no in body SR and it has an AA filter.
D750e will release after couple months and price several hundred higher.

My bet is zero would have switched unless they were spitting nails after the D600 oil spots fiasco. Even then, the rest of the Nikon system would be much more attractive to the wedding photographer.

I think the 750 will be a good success and what the 6x0 line should have been in the first place. Though why they limited the shutter speed to 1/4000 is beyond me. The D700 owner has got to feel like this is nowhere near the body they hold in their hands already in many respects.

They didn't really copy anything from Pentax, they basically just took a Nikon D610, and added a few more improvements. The button layout is pretty much identical between D610 and D750

They seemed to place a focus on their new 'deeper' grip, was that already in the D610?
I really don't know.
To me at least it would make the camera more familiar to hold.
Other Nikons and Canons I have tried at stores felt really weird grip wise vs. my Pentax cams I am used to.

It does seem like a minor upgrade on the D610, unless you shoot a lot of sports or wildlife.

I don't know that Pentax could be a major player in the full frame market before considerable time passes. The issue isn't the camera, it is the lenses. Maybe they have designs for 24-70 and 70-200 f2.8 with ring motors that they are ready to churn out, but those are the lenses that most nikon/canon folks already own when they buy their full frame camera.

I saw this today, and it looks very similar to the D600/D610 (which is a Good Thing IMHO) - certainly much more attractive than the Df which was sitting next to it and look grotesque by comparison.

It quite possibly is in the sweet spot in Nikon's lineup.
